Zonzo Estate

Zonzo Estate is a family-owned winery, restaurant, working farm and wedding venue situated just 2 km west of Yarra Glen in the heart of the Yarra Valley. Established around 2007, Zonzo began as a restaurant at the old Train Trak Vineyard, and in time the owners acquired the vineyard and built their own wine label, aiming to “bring friends the best drop possible.” The property covers about 230 acres, with some 45 acres of mature vines, and rolling hills shaped by the neighbouring Yarra River

Winemaking is headed by Caroline Mooney, who has overseen construction of a dedicated winery (in a converted Lilydale warehouse) outfitted with sustainable technologies such as Swiss-cooling systems, solar power, rainwater recycling and purpose-designed tanks that allow for small batch attention. The roster of wines includes traditional cool-climate varieties like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz, alongside a growing selection of Italian and experimental grapes such as Barbera, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Fiano and Pecorino, especially under their “Scoperta” range launched in 2021. Zonzo’s restaurant serves honest Italian-style food—wood-fired pizzas, handmade pastas and shared tables—set in a converted milking shed with rustic charm, picturesque views of vineyard and landscape, lawns and open spaces appealing to families and groups.

Zonzo is also well-regarded as a wedding and events destination, melding food, wine, scenery and atmosphere into an immersive Yarra Valley experience.
