Helen’s Hill Estate

Helen’s Hill (Helen’s Hill Estate) is a boutique, family-owned winery based in Coldstream, in the heart of the Yarra Valley, Victoria. Established in 1997 by the Nalder and McIntosh families, the estate spans about 100-150 acres of former pasture, selected for its hills, diverse aspects, soil types, and microclimates.

About Helen’s Hill Estate

Its vineyards sit roughly 140 metres above sea level, on long, narrow blocks with hills running across them which create subtle climatic differences and soil variation; this lets Helen’s Hill match grape varieties and clones to the most suited parts of the land.

The winemaking philosophy is minimalist and terroir-driven: sustainable practices, selective picking, small parcel fermentation, letting nature guide the fruit, and allowing wines to reflect their origin. hey produce a few different ranges: the Ingram Road label (fruit-forward, more immediate drinking), the Helen’s Hill Estate label (from premium blocks, wines with ageing potential), and special projects like a Single Clone Pinot Noir and a Winemaker’s Reserve range.

For visitors, there’s a well-appointed cellar door, a Deck Bistro with vineyard views, outdoor dining (Lawn Bar), and a relaxed environment to taste the full range. Helen’s Hill has earned recognition as a Halliday “5 Red Star” winery for its consistent quality.
